I was surprised that around 60% of the people that have taken the InterNACHI exam have failed http://exams.nachi.org/oe/stats.php ----

These statistics seem to reinforce what Nick has been telling us - that is, that NACHI has strickter memebership requirements than others. I don't know of many Societies that would turn away 60% of potential new membships, and membership fees.

Dennis -

I've held multiple 6-7 hour study sessions over the years for guys taking the NHIE and various state licensing exams. I've used MAINLY the NACHI Practice Exam and the original Code Check.

Once in a while if I thought the class make-up was really demented I would also use either the Russ Burgess Book used in Texas for years OR the Carson & Dunlop "HomeBook".

My students had about a 90%-95% PASS ratio.

Good Luck ......

Nick -

As a multiple time past Board of Director at ASHI National, I believe Scott is mostly correct. Although I've set in many BoD meetings, Committee Meetings, etc or been privy in years past to emails flying back and forth from other BoD members or past ASHI Officers about NACHI or you - Once they saw how willing you were to sue (and often win), I can't remember seeing derogatory comments in their PUBLIC FORUMS, etc.

Best Wishes

Nick,
There are members of NACHI that are duel members, for what ever reason they choose. But if they joined NACHI, it had to be for the reason that the information and education they had been lacking at other memberships had them think of this Association.
Nick, I can only speak for myself and God knows a few members have given me a hard time, but I don't believe you should have to defend yourself or this great membership you created to any outside membership. NACHI speaks for itself.

Mr. Siegel, first I will make this short, as I am busy with inspections to do, thank you NACHI. All I know is when I was a "newbie" (to home inspections not construction) and looking for an association to join I found most that appeared to just have their hand out, while NACHI was there with their arms out welcoming me and providing me with a large amount of outstanding information. I have belonged to many organizations through my life and through a long corp. career and have found NACHI to be one of the best organizations I have been associated with. To ring in on the tests, I found NACHIs test harder than the national test. To close, I have more business than I can handle and I credit a good portion of that to INACHI!
