How does TREC communicate with its licensees? Had I not attended the TAREI convention in July or read this post, I would have had no idea that an SOP change was coming. When the new SOP goes into effect, how will we inspectors be informed? Is it incumbent on us to visit the TREC website to see if there are any new laws or changes affecting us?

I just went to the TREC website to see what the latest update is, and it said that a meeting will be held on June 30 to discuss the SOP. It appears to me that the site needs to be updated in a more timely manner.

Mike...TREC communicates very poorly with inspectors and I agree that the TREC website is outdated much of the time but I looked at it today and it is up to date as of 9/9/08. You can sign up on the site to receive the TREC Advisor that goes out periodically and contains items of interest to realtors and inspectors. Also, get on TAREI's or TPREI's mailing list, monitor this board, join www.prismrca.com , come to an Inspectors Advisory Committee meeting in Austin, e-mail me, etc.
