Default Wind Mitigation- who can perform them?

I am a bit lost on this issue.

Q: Currently under Florida law who can perform Wind Mitigation inspections?

Q: Can a home inspector become certified to do the WM?

Q: Where can a home inspector go to get a WM license?

Thank you in advance for sharing information.

Q: Currently under Florida law who can perform Wind Mitigation inspections? Engineer, archecticut, or general contractor. Each individual insurance company can also accept them from anyone they deem qualified, however they generally stick to the three listed above.

If you are working for a GC and he is signing your reports, you must now be an employee to do this.

Q: Can a home inspector become certified to do the WM? NO. But this might change with licensing and starting in July of 2011.

Q: Where can a home inspector go to get a WM license? You cant.

Thank you in advance for sharing information.
Have fun with this one. The rules are the rules. If you do not play by them, the insurance companies are looking to make an example of someone.

Jose,

Correct me if I am wrong, but the supply lines in the attic look like Polybutylene.

The relief line on the water heater runs in a verticle position - not allowed.

Since 2003 (or before) home inspectors are breaking the law if they inspect a septic system. You must be a licensed septic tank company or licensed plumber.

You list that there is foiliage that needs to be trimmed around the AC unit. Looking at the picture, there are three sides open with a small bush on the other side.

Hey William, Where can I get some documentation on this.

I refuse to inspect them. I recommend a licensed septic contractor. Invariably, the agent says their last inspector would inspect septic systems. I'd like to know the specifics if you can. Thank you.

I am not sure of the date or bill that was passed. I will do some more research. I did find this though.

A new bill was passed this year requiring all septic tanks to be insepected:
