For what it's worth, the State of WV is reviewing our exam material, and a proctoring method devised by NACHI. The NHIE isn't set in stone, but is the only thing that the state was handed when the bill was presented. And guess who pushed for it?????

I think Gerry and the gang have an awesome idea, which is what I alluded to earlier--let's beat 'em at their own game. I don't think anyone could view this as a bad idea. What will it take to get it going?

Meanwhile, we're gonna keep widdlin' away at the fire comissioner, who is somehow in charge of the HI certification in our great state????????????????????????????????????????????? ???????????????????????????????????????

Has there been any new news regarding what tests will be accepted?

I am just getting started in the bus. and have taken the NHIE and passed. Do I now just need to call the fire marshal and register?

You have to have at least 250K in liability Insurance, a business license and if not in business for 3 years at least 80 Hours in recognized HI training. It doesn’t have to be classroom instruction they recognized my 300 hour AHIT correspondence course. Then there is the $125.00 license fee.

Sorry, got knocked off(seems to happen alot in WV) anyway to finish my reply I would advise any member to go into the test knowing the ASHI standards of practice, you will have a hard time if you don't.
Good luck WV inspectors and thanks to all members for your support of us in WV.

Steven - I've got a lovely husband/wife inspector team up in Weirton who are studying hard for the NHIE but remain awfully worried. Would it be OK if I gave them your phone number and maybe you could share a few pointers based on your experience? Please drop me an e-mail and let me know. I'll repay the kindness in any way that I can... Thanks x 100...

Might nice of you, Steven. They are Bill & Mary Wasmer and I've shared your contact info with them. Delightful folks, I promise you.
