I like tyvek's flex wrap for the sill's buttttttt !

It is reverse lap on the sides of the opening and it needs to have 1/2 that is not sticky so the next layer of moisture barrier for the stucco application can be properly lapped to kick the water out.

It is my understanding that tyvek fails the boat test so why would they allow the water to get between the layers?

And in the video the wrap was their stucco wrap.

For starters.

IMO That pdf is for the most part FAUX IMO

Where do you think the bulk of these pictures came from?

http://badstucco.com/Leaks101_files/frame.html

I can still go out any day of the week and take lots more! So even tho they put that together they still do not get the big picture. If it was my house and it was put together as per that document I would sue the hell out of JOCO.

Marcel,

Page # 3 Blocking on the sheathing joints between the stud's. Yet the OSB is to be spaced 1/8" to allow for swelling. How does it do that if it is nailed?

Look's like the tyvek reps for JOCo had a hand in the details. No way this can be good.

The Capitol window's with wood trim. Looks like there is no backer rod and sealant joint between the window's and trim. No mention of it either. No flashing under the trim at the head of the window's nor above the trim.

What is he doing to the head of the window. Putting the sticky flashing tape over the wrap instead of under it!

The picture where the trim is shimmed out will fail. The moisture barrier for stucco is 2 layers they now have a funnel at the sill of the improperly installed window.

Metal on metal paper on paper! Caseing bead is to be on over the moisture barrier and the lath. On the roof it is neither.

The meter box is shimmed out with a chunk of 3/4" plywood no flashing it is gonna leak.

And the other pictures have problems as well.
