I saw this on a 1969 built condo I was inspecting today. It appeared to be connected to the building at one time, but is now loose on one end. There appears to be nothing going into or out of this metal box. There are no service entrance cables nearby. It is on the ground and was covered by pine needles.
Sorry, the image file exceeds the max limit. Will post later with smaller pix. |

It appears to be a metal box with a hole!! On a serious note I would think it is one of two things; A rodent trap or it was at one time a low voltage light control box. </IMG> 'Imagination is more important than knowledge' (sometimes) Mario Kyriacou CHI CMI-NACHI Canadian Member of the Year 2007 www.360degreeshomeinspections.com Tel.# 416-722-6132 e-mail torontohomeinspector@yahoo.com |

Junction box meant for exterior locations. It could have serviced a lot of applications, but since it's disconnected it's a non-issue.
