Are you sure the chimney hasn't moved away from the house,possibly pulling the step flashing with it.
That is what it looks like from the photo.

John, sometimes maybe you're too picky. I mean what more do you want out of the roofer here. He used at least 2 tubes of caulk for cryin out loud. LOL.

There was no evidence of chimney movement, just an extremely poor overall roofing job!
