I do not think it is snow melt I feel it is the way the snow was deposited with the wind currents and eddies .

It may mean nothing.
Angle of the sun coming from the left hand side, combined with the triangular shape formed by the valley's and wind which may have left that area a little more shallow of snow.

This must have been the answer. There wasn't a thing in the attic that would lead me to believe that it was hotter in this section.

I did find a roof flashing on the furnace flue that needed a little help, but that was on the back side of the house. I guess that not every "clue" actually leads to a defect.
