Default how to measure waterproofing

I need to know how to measure exactuly the mils of waterproofing that have been applied, any help appreciated

Why?

To measure "mils" = "millions of an inch" takes a very accurate and expensive piece of eq...

Can you easily poke your thumb through it? No? Thick enough!
