Just when I think I have seen it all something like this comes along to remind me their is a lot of stuff I haven't even thought of people doing.
An old brick chimney that was clad with exterior siding... I think the intention was to install a cap....someday...apparently a procrastinator. If it is not clear from the picture water does run right down behind the siding that covers this. |

You miss alot of things if you don't walk 'em (including the opportunity to say a prayer for those too slow to get off a hot roof!)

That looks more like a cavity! Not a crown.
