Nice chimney crown

Just when I think I have seen it all something like this comes along to remind me their is a lot of stuff I haven't even thought of people doing.
An old brick chimney that was clad with exterior siding...
I think the intention was to install a cap....someday...apparently a procrastinator. If it is not clear from the picture water does run right down behind the siding that covers this.

You miss alot of things if you don't walk 'em (including the opportunity to say a prayer for those too slow to get off a hot roof!)

That looks more like a cavity! Not a crown.
