Default Paper roof membrane?
Two layers of what looked like sisalkraft paper under asphalt comp shingles. Does this look familiar?

I've never seen that before. Curious to see what others say. Just looking at it, it looks woefully inadequate.

Ya' know what it reminds me of? The cheap-arse DIY homeowner who thinks that the kraftpaper backing from insulation would make a fantastic ice barrier !!!

I have seen it before, but only on manufactured homes.
