Default Photo needed: California cut valley

I need a reasonably high resolution photograph of a California cut valley for the roof course. We'll credit the donor. Anybody?

I emailed one to you. Let me know if that's what you're looking for. I can get a better image if needed.

In the California cut valley, the top layer of shingles is not cut.
Instead, it stops just short of the centerline of the valley, which has a row of shingles installed end to end along the valley, with the edge of these valley shingles terminating in the center of the valley, as you use here.

I've never seen this in CO or CA (southern) but Tim says they're common in his neck of the woods (TX).
I just called tech support at GAF/ELK and Certainteed and neither one of them recommend it. Certainteed had never heard of it and I think mistook my question for a cut valley.

See GAF/ELK Steep slope Technical Point #136-07, I can't seem to post the link.

I consider the California cut valley installation method a defect up here in snow country.

Yes I do, I will email it to you. @nachitv account.

Brian, FYI I deferred to a roofer for this and other irregularities on this particular roof, although no leaks found.

It is quite commen here in San Diego, probably the most common right after tiles.

They're ALL the rage here! ;D

Every one of these was new construction by a national builder... and the results...

Hey Ken up here in N. CA I see them all the time, let me know if you still need some pics, I may have them for you. With over 5,000 roof inspections I may have a few...lol..
