Default Recommend painting cement board siding
Do you recommend sealing all butt joints and painting cement board cladding on a new installation? Thanks

I do. Unless the installed siding is one of these new factory finished sidings. Like this

Especially butt joints. Most installers don't install the small piece of tar paper at each butt joint. More reason for caulking joints.
