Default Shingle Overhang
I inspected a house today where the 3 tab asphalt shingles overhang the edges of the roof 3 inches - instead of the standard 1 1/2 inches. It looks bad. Are there any functional implications?

Needless to say they didn't install a drip edge.
The shingles will eventually crack along the overhang.
