Default Small vents at wood siding

Why are these vents in the siding? I have seen plugs that indicate insulation.

Every inspection there is always at least 1 item I have never seen. Keeps the job intesting & this is the value of this board.

Thank you.

It is kinda like ask the audience in millionare. The player gets stuck polls the audience & hopefully gets the right answer.

Thanks

Dave

They look like vents to vent the cold side of the wall.
Keeps paint from peeling, ect...

I assume they are between every stud!?

Are they venting floor joist bays for some reason?
