It also becomes contaminated when towns grow and zoning changes. Sites that before were businesses like garages for 50 years and soaked all sorts of toxic chemicals into the ground are now homes with families having small children. This is a common and crucial scenario, Elise. And cadmium is a product of what?
Lead contamination of soil ... it's from a process called "oxidation". You should include that. Arsenic was never the most widely used preservative for wood. It was a constituent chemical used in pressure-treated woods for many years. So what's the real deal?
