Default Square D breaker in a General Electric panel

Is a Square D breaker allowed in General Electric panel??

The code "may" permit it, but Square D doesn't. I have called them regarding this. Only their breakers are allowed in their panels.

Since it's a GE panel, it may be better to check if GE allows it (read the panel label).
