Default Stucco joints

I just inspected a home with a stucco exterior. Exterior wall height was approximately 18 feet. Midway up the wall at about 9 feet there is a horizontal joint that runs around the structure. Does this joint need to match up as it goes around corners?

Thank you.

Why would it not if it is at the plate line!

Other then that it is cosmetic! Imo It looks better when they line up!

It is amazing sometimes as to what would be commen sense and what is constructurally effective, some people can not make the two methods to work at the same time. It is too much thinking and logic.
