Agree.
That side wall had no windows originally
the basement patio door and windows were added as a part of the patio project.

Uni stone. Maintenance heavy every 5 years.
Maintenance medium every 3 years.
Maintenance yealy..
Suspect' lack of screening or patio stone joint fill .
rapid erosion. Destabilize bedding ( substructure.) Layers of compacted material.
Materials for substrate. Aggregate of verirring thicknesses ( and polymers if done right )
There should be no voids between the stone, or pavers butt and course joints.
This will allow water infiltration too wash away the fine particulate.
That fine particulate is an important component of the structure.
Recommend a licensed Uni stone contractor.
One that knows and uses polymers in base and fill. Also sealing of the entire patio area.
That is A xxx,xxx DOLLARS JOB 5 YEARS AGO.
Not many company's installing pavers improperly.
They do not understand the science and BASIC principles of layers, aggregate, weather and maintenance.

Nice eye Marcel. You caught the defect.
Please do not avoid theses hazards. They are a deficiency and must be inspected in full. Every tread stone.
Risers not plumb. Good indicators of erosion and movement.
Tread plate stones are normally caulked, if not the design must be unique as to not allow for tipping.
Most installers use mathematical size.
Use full investigative technique for stairs.
I see that safety issue all the time.
Lots of steps, lots of tread stones..
To check for the deficiency ,.
1: use upward light but firm lift on the tread end.
Sorry for the crude drawing. Shows the tipping point also.
See if tread is lose, like when you rock a toilet seat.
Rock the tread.
Do not remove it. The owner will have a fit.
Photo it first. Then explain to the owner what you are going to do ( if they are there ). Ease them into it.
Lightly.
No railing or stair rail and a loss step.
Marcel caught the defect right away.!!
