Comments about vinyl siding “powdering” are appreciated.
Inspection had vinyl on an eleven year old house, when I wiped my fingers across it it left a powdery residue.
Is siding deteriorating, is it cheap, is it going to fall off tomorrow ? etc.

Probably UV chalking or pollution deposit. Not uncommon for 11 yr old siding material of any type that hasn’t been maintained/washed periodically.
I’ll scratch an inconspicuous spot with fingernail if surface appearance/integrity concerns me.
