You Can't Make This Up

Shot this photo of 1/2 of an extension ladder tied to a step ladder with a live extension cord during an inspection.

After my first 5-6 years of HI, I felt a little cocky and felt I’d seen just about most of the crazy things that can be done in houses both by trades/handymen and the homeowner…until I saw something done by licensed electrician. He replaced the corroded oil furnace side of a wood-oil combination furnace with an electric furnace that he just slipped into the original casings. Now all certifications were invalid!!! Now I say after a work week if I haven’t seen something bizarre, stupid, crazy, outlandish, etc, I’ve had my eyes closed…although usually by Tues/Wed of each week, I’ve seen/found the crazy stuff!!

The way I look at it now is that we have 6 billion people in the world and each can eventually have about 10 ideas and ways to do something wrong or unsafely!!

Yes that guy really should be wearing a hat. :stuck_out_tongue:

Seems t’ me that if it worked, they wouldn’t be last words.

Last words would something like…“awwww shucks, it didn’t work”.

or…

“It seemed like a good idea at the time.”

or…

“Damn! That hurt!!!”
