Jeffrey,

I like things that are out of the ordinary and that fan is a conversation piece.

My ceiling is cathedral and I keep the fan on low speed 24/7 except when it get too hot then I use the second speed. I had it for 2-3 years and no problems.

The only inconvenience is that the switch for the reverse is on top of the motor so I have to stop the motor and get the step ladder but it gives me a reason to dust it.

For the ones still debating, air flow downward in summer and upward in winter.
