Default Garage door opener safety reverse

Two newer houses this weekend (2002 & 2004). Both had the screw drive type openers. Neither safety reverses worked, however, both had the "eyes". Now, do the screw drive type normally have the SR feature? I'm assuming they all do, however, now I'm wondering. Thanks in advance for helpful replies.

Probably present, but the sensitivity is not adjusted correctly.

"The garage door opener is functional, but it does not auto-reverse when it meets reasonable resistance during closing. The mechanism is either absent or it may need to be adjusted. Failure to service this defect may result in death or personal injury to small children or pets."

“The things that will destroy America are peace at any price,
prosperity at any cost, safety first instead of duty first,
the love of soft living, and the get-rich-quick theory of life.”
Theodore Roosevelt

Sometimes the sensitivity needs to be adjusted at the unit. Sensitivity can be affecteed by temperature and sometimes they're very difficult to get adjusted correctly.

"War is an ugly thing, but not the ugliest of things; the decayed and degraded state of moral and patriotic feeling which thinks nothing is worth a war, is worse. A man who has nothing which he cares more about than he does about his personal safety is a miserable creature who has no chance at being free, unless made and kept so by the exertions of better men than himself."

- John Stuart Mill
