Laundry chute in contact with furnace vent.

Good luck opening. You think this might be a little on the unsafe side

The elbow on the vent is installed backwards too. The straight section should be crimped and made to fit inside the elbow.

Actually in regards to the vent there were multiple issue. Dead birds at cleanout, poorly sealed at chimney, deteriorated mortar at attic and exterior and there should be a liner and cap installed for this system as it is a newer installed furnace
