Default shower pans

I have a ? do all showers on older homes and two story homes
have shower pans or is it just the ones with tile on them . Thanks
for your help

Not sure I understand your question completely, but here goes anyway:

The molded stall showers do not have pans under them (you can install just a molded pan and still have tile walls). All second story stall showers will have a pan (unless the shower has been replaced with a molded pan).
Some of the older stall showers that are recessed into the foundation do not have pans under them.

All tile grout must be maintained and filled in when necessary, as water will find its way through. Some people will seal the grout to prevent water penetration.
