That is kind of where I was going. I guesss trying to keep it simple I might have left too much out.

I posted the question about moving on to 3 phase because of the complexity of the systems. I have never totally understood it except to know I should reccommend or hire an electrician to examine the three phase aspects of installations I have had to inspect. It was intended as a joke but also to educate. Thanks guys I think you well illustrated the point I intended to make.

You're right, it is more complicated than a single phase, 120/240 system which the reason I suggested someone start a new thread about just 3 phase. I'm not an engineer but I have been dealing with 3 phase systems regularly for almost 25 years so I can probably provide some insight in layman's terms if anyone is interested.
