Eragorn, typically if you have a GFCI breaker everything on that circuit is protected and GFCI receptacles are not needed on the same circuit.

If you do not have a GFCI breaker, you can put a GFCI receptacle at the first receptacle and the ones downsteam would be protected.

There are other things to consider but these are the basics.
