Does the bonding wire from the gas pipe to the cold water pipe have to be #6 copper on a 100 amp service. I inspected a house today and noticed someone had used #2 insulated wire.

If that is a proper way to bond gas in Canada then bigger is not a problem.

Maybe Cookie can confirm if that is proper in Canada.

Never seen it that large up here .
This might just have been a short piece of cable that he wanted to use up instead of throwing it in the scrap.

Can a gas line be bonded right to a water pipe, or does it need to go to a GEC or panel?
