Just for clarification, is there a specific code or something that says that disconnects for the a/c units have to have guards to protect the wires so that they are not accidentally touched when pulling the disconnect? I did an inspection today in which there were no guards on either one and I just want to be sure before I put it in the report. thanks

That would be a big 10-4...unless you know the person that is going to operate the disconnect, and you don't care for him/her.
