I have a plug in receptacle tester that I keep in my pocket ( as well as the suretest) and I plugged it into the top of a switched receptacle in the bedroom, with the switch in the off position, the power indicator light glowed dimly, when switches on the tested showed normal.
anyone ever run across that?

Was it a lighted switch?

no a switched outlet, non lighted switch. I did have another outlet on the same wall with an open neutral though.
I get where you are going with the lighted switch though.

Yes no big deal it is induced voltage by the unswitched wire in the cable .
Very little voltage
