Convention Comment:
It is not always true that mixed brands of circuit breakers are a defect! The key to this is in the information on the cover of the panel, or research the subject, for example Square D and GE say "Nothing Doing" use my breakers only, etc! |

The Mark Ode show the other day brought out that the classified breakers from Cutler Hammer/Challenger now come with a sticker you put in the panel that defines the types of panels these breakers are classified as being suitable for.
Hopefully that will clear up the confusion for the "next" guy. |

You know Greg.......Cutler Hammer does do that for a Square D QO breaker...I did that the other day and they sure did provide a new label to go inside of the panel.
Seems like many are going this direction... Paul W. Abernathy |

heck.......maybe they all will just jump on the "one fits all " bandwagon and just make one type breaker....lol.......yeah like that will happen.

Square D will never abandon their QO design but the Homeline is more generic looking. I haven't tried but I bet you can jam lots of different breakers in that panel. Your mileage will certainly vary on how well they actually work.

Actually Greg....I agree with you...but the breaker I got last week from Rexel was for a Square D QO...but it was a Cutler Hammer with that label you talked about and it worked fine...and 2 bucks cheaper...lol..Dont tell my client however..I charged for a Square D QO price tag.
