Paul, in English please. Are you saying all electrical cables should be concealed?

Im saying that in a detached garage it should be in the wall and behind a 15 minute rated finish. Now, does that mean it always happens...nope....but being behind this rating would solve the protection issue.

Wow,

I've got to go back to at least 500 home inspections that I performed and (send addendum's) or tell these homeowners to install drywall over the exposed wiring in their garage.

Not.

I see exposed wiring in garages every week. I guess I can start noting it the my reports from here on in.

Paul,

Are you sure that wiring in every wall in the garage (including non-firewall) must be protected by drywall? The wiring in firewalls are obviously already protected.
