Default Drip loop

I've sen a few like this over the past few weeks. I write them up, but since I've seen a few now I am second guessing my recommendations.

What do you guys think?

No good. Just remember this... when it rains, can rainwater run down the conductors and enter the weatherhead? If yes, it's no good. The conductors should have an uphill run before entering the weatherhead.

Thanks Jeffrey. That's what I was thinking. For some reason I've just run across several of these recently so I wanted to be sure.

Tell the cable company to quit using the electrical mast as a support for their LV runs.

Also it looks like those conductors have an insulation type that is not rated for use in sunlight and the outer nylon jacket is coming off.

Quote:
310.8 Locations.
(D) Locations Exposed to Direct Sunlight. Insulated conductors or cables used where exposed to direct rays of the sun shall comply with (D)(1) or (D)(2):
(1) Conductors and cables shall be listed, or listed and marked, as being sunlight resistant
(2) Conductors and cables shall be covered with insulating material, such as tape or sleeving, that is listed, or listed and marked, as being sunlight resistant
