Default Electrical Main Service Line

A house built in 1999 has silver color electrical entry supply , what type of wire would this be?

Is it in a cable or in a raceway? A cable would likely be service entrance cable (SE cable).

Considering that the two most commonly used conductor materials are aluminum and copper this should not be too hard to figure out.

Do the training programs not teach this sort of material?

Yeah....however there's always a good chance that an ASHI inspector will beat that price.
