Post script, could you add something to indicate that an outlet can be protected if connected in series, or with a GFCI breaker. Sounds nice....BUT remember something. An OCPD ( Overcurrent Protection Device) protects againsts Short Circuit, Ground fault and Overload. There is a difference between a "ground fault" which a standard breaker protects againsts in its own inverse way.....just be clear that GFCI and Ground Fault are different things.

Please Note:
Jim Port is a non-member guest and is in no way affiliated with InterNACHI or its members.
Might be handy to add that a GFI will work without a grounding connection. However, if tested with a 3 light tester the GFI will not trip.
You could also add a section about supposed nuisance tripping from motors and refrigerators, freezers and sump pumps. |
