Houseboat inspection in Sausalito

Something doesn’t seem to be quite right about the electrical on these houseboats. Can’t quite put my finger on it… anyone see a problem here?

you prolly heard, “been doing it this way since forever, why change now”
sistawa ran a pbx call center out of hers in the late '70’s early '80s, phones where iffy at times

No GFCI’s ??

No cover on the panel?

No ground rod?

Awesome thinking that they put the cords IN the WATER, just in case any stray voltage come out. Instead of Viagra just jump in the water!

seems like sitting on the dock of the bay takes on a whole new dimension. better make sure you are wearing a good pair of rubber soled shoes with all that salt water and static energy left over from the sixties. seems like a good community effort is in order to clean up the general services. i’m certain if you can fig’r out what the supply lines are (make sure nothing is being pulled from the next door neighbors) you can do a reasonable job.

Very good recent article from Mike Holt on this very thing. Happens way more often than most suspect.

The breakers in pic 3 don’t have any labels. How do they know which boat they go to?

They just follow the Romex.
