Client asked me to inspect the back up generator. How would one go about this?

I think it might be good idea to pass this on to an Installer of these systems.
I would pass on it.
Not because I don’t know how to use them but because they are well beyond the scope of a home inspection.
Their complexity can vary greatly.
Propane, natural gas, gasoline, diesel
automatic transfer switch, manually interlocked limited circuit cut over, Plug in unit.
Too many variables to get a bead on it.
