I generally find the same thing. It does not matter what type of siding is installed...

Bare OSB...

Quite often I need to bring the pan out to meet the new finish and that is when I use wood behind it, or one of those vinyl mounting blocks I mentioned.

I HATE seeing a meter pan that has vinyl J channel around it. To me that says tacky and lazy.

Judging by the device box for the light I am assuming that this is going to be a brick veneer job. The Exception to 314.27 will allow a fixture that is mounted on wall that weighs no more than 6 pounds to be attached with no fewer than two #6 screws.

The installation of the light if this is a brick veneer job will be compliant.

My inspector's class is starting two hours late today due to the snow we had yesterday so I got to go. Class starts at 10:00

Just wondering is that meter box is very typical in Western Wisconsin area and that fall in your POCO called " Engery Excell [ sp ] " ??

Marc,

It's not one of mine. I grabbed it off a web page. I didn't have any showng an open the meter can.
The one in the photo is a 400 amp service supplying two panels.
