Frank, do you understand why it doesn't trip the GFCI until it's flushed? Think about it. You can argue with intelligent people but to argue with a mush head is like trying to grab fog-Thomas Sowell |

On my own house (built in 1987), two protected circuits -one for the outside receptacles and one for the bathroom receptcles-older code here from 1987) are required for this protection. Whenever I go to use any of the exterior receptacles, I check the CFCI breaker at the panel as 60%+ of the time, it's "nuisance" tripped Before this change, both the outdoor and bathroom receptacles could be on the same CFCI protected circuit but this presented nuisance problems....if an outdoor receptacle "moisture event" caused a trip of the device, the bathroom receptacles would be dead and had to be reset (a real pi$$-off when you woke up late and had to rush in the morning!) . It became enough of a problem that in 1987, the code changed to have these recptacles placed on separate protected circuits so that when the outside "nuisance tripped" you still had power to the bath/washroom recepts. Yes, there is a reason but you could not correct it and still can't even with today's equipment. |
