Default A Real Hot Seat

I hope it's internally protected. The receptacle was not on a GFCI protected circuit.

Geesh, even if the seat has internal protection, if the outlet isn't GFCI and the cord could have a fault on the floor, still a no-go. For the installed or other devices plugged into an outlet like that one, kinda makes ya wonder.

Having said that, I can make out a label on outlet, did it say GFCI on the outlet cover and it wasn't?

Seems like the few (very few BTW) times I've seen devices like this, they were transformed/low voltage.

I put my receptacle tester in and it did not trip anything. No labeling, but that isn't shocking....
