Default steel cabinet

should you list a steel medicine cabinet with light as being a safety hazard and should it be replaced. I think so ?!?

Not if it's a listed fixture. Do you have a picture?

I don't have a photo. Some of these were older homes and the wiring doesn't have a ground... Safety ???

Any steel component of an electrical system should be grounded. In older, ungrounded systems, this was often accomplished through bonding of the metallic conduit to the fixture junction box.

You haven't provided enough information to give you a definitive answer, but the simple fact that it's a "steel fixture" does not necessarily make it "unsafe," even on a two-wire system.
