Default Tank Alarm

What could the tank alarm be for? This is located in the lower level of the home. Water heaters are in the garage. Two sump pumps are in lower level. Thanks for any info that could be supplied.

Was there a septic tank? Was there a visible "lid" in the yard, many times they house a lift pump for sewage - hence the need for a tank alarm.

I love the three-way adapter in the simplex receptacle with the alarm transformer plugged in.
