Default VA set to pass its CE requirements to Electricians

Well.........after MUCH push and conversations to the state we have finally been told that VA will have CE requirements for electricians starting on Dec 31, 2007........and they are MASSIVE....

lol...ok...Slightly Massive........

lol...ok......WEAK...there I said it....

The State of Virginia is only requiring electricians to complete 3 hours of code related training very 2 years for renewal........

Yes you heard me...3 hours.....most NEC Consultants will tell you that 3 hours is not enough time to fully explain how to size a service correctly much less dabble into NEC Code......sigh.......oh well....it's a START....

I was going for....8, 12 maybe 16 hours every 2 years of electrical related training and 8 hours of NEC Code minimum....but 3 hours of CODE is the winner........

We shall TRY to change it and increase that over the next few years......

lol... I'm suprised they require 3. I thought electricians already knew everything.

Gotcha.
