What are the issues here?

BTW there was no trap under all of this...

Trap is not vertical. No overflow pan. Evidence of water activity based on water stains on wall. I'm not sure about requirements of installation on traps for condensate lines.

That is a trap!

It's an improper "S" trap.

the real issue is; Joe homeowner with to many spare p.v.c. part, and sniffing way to much glue.

Or a moisture monitor/alarm.

May be easier than lifting the unit.

Also the secondary drain connection looks like it's open.
It will leak on the floor and the Trap is negated. The water level may rise in the inner pan and leak everywhere.
