Looks like a fuel oil burner . I've never seen a burner like this one ! What type of furnace is it and on what type of structure is it heating !

Typical gas conversion burner from an old oil burner or could even have been a coal furnace originally called an upshot,good flame

Robert is the name brand williamson/they did manufactur a forced air furnace with that type of burner back in the 60s, now that you jogged the old memory

Aside from only being about 10% efficiency there's nothing wrong with them if properly maintained and safety checked annually.

A new system would no doubt pay for itself with energy savings pretty quickly I would imagine.
