The return on this Wiel McLain seems to be chromed - don't recall ever seeing this before. It lined up properly with the fittings on the boiler but seemed more like a plumbing pipe. Any thoughts?

It may have been galvanized under the coating (which doesn't really appear that shiny in the picture), but it certainly seemed like it was chromed.
