Default Chrysler Airtemp Age

Can anyone tell me the age of a Chrysler Airtemp Warm Air Furnace? The model number is 4414-01.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Any chance you have the serial number? With the serial number one can identify the manufacture date of about 95% of all furnaces.

That serial number appears to be 1975.

Hey Russel,

I could use your coding reference on this serial number.

How do you know that it couldn't be 1985?

Thanks.

Because of the type of serial number that it is. Now if he left off the first two digits, which would have been letters, then it could be anywhere from 1975 to 1984. But based on what he gave me, and the type of serial number that it is, it would be 1975.

It's important to take two things into consideration: the manufacturer and the type of serial number. For Chrysler, they were in a period of transition from 1975 to 1979, so there are at least two types of serial numbers for 1975 to 1979 that I am aware of, one starting with two letters, and one set up like that provided.
