I hate asking but I called the Heil phone # and they didnt have any info on Dayton.

m/n FG8807512MU12A

The only info I got is " Last manufactured in 1990; seem to be out of business" hope this help a little

I found one today that was manufactured with an 2004 or later date. I still have no idea how to date the serial number
