Default Determing age of Air-Ease Oil Hot Air furnace

House has an Air-Ease (no other mfg ID) Oil fired forced hot air furnace. I have not seen this brand around here before, 6 years of inspecting full time! Need to determine age. Property is being transferred using a low cost first time homeowner revitalization program. The revitalization group inspector says the furnace must be replaced, it is too old. Unit looks near new, no rust, operates well.
Nomenclature panel shows the following:
Model: LBR8OC112/125D20
Serial: 8404506602
I am thinking the guy said it must be replaced because they also do the work. (He also wanted to charge Client $600.00 for lead in paint testing. Was really upset when Client said I was doing all lab sampling)
An advance thanks to whoever replies. Need to have the report out Friday when the labs come back.

maybe 1966 by looking at the serial number.

I just inspected a home with an old oil fired furnace from 1964 still operating. The vent pipe was wrapped with damaged asbestos.

The one I inspected clearly had the year and manufacture date on it. By looking at the serial number you provided, looks as though it could be Feb of 1966 or April of 1984.

Did it look like it could have been from 1966? When was the home built?

Update from regional distributor of Penstan / Air-Ease.
Digits 3 and 4 of the serial number indicate the year of manufacture. In this case, 2004.
Thanks all
Tom

Wow I was way off the mark. It would make things some much easier if they just had the manufacture date easily marked. Every manufacturer is so different.

Thanks for the info.
