About 35 years ago in a military hospital, a civilian dependent (female) died on the operating table. A defibrillator was used to revive her which resulted in a small burn mark near her breast. When she recovered, she successfully sued the hospital, the surgeon, and the manufacturer of the defibrillator for her "disfigurement".

No good deed goes unpunished.

Michael - what does winterizing plumbing have to do with LIFE THREATENING. Is anyone here going to tell me that if they found a GAS Leak of sufficient strength to scare an HI they are not going to shut the gas off and warn the inhabitants. Maybe even call the Gas CO. Just skip out the back door and write "Environmental Conditions prohibit continuation of inspection". OHHHH WELLLLL.

That's how waivers came about. Can't even get into a hospital now without a waiver. Pretty soon, we'll have to sign waivers with the government in order to drive ours cars on the freeways.

Even despite all that, some people are still decent and pick man over money.

I agree with you in the fact that you can be liable. But I would feel better knowing I tried. If someone is spineless, then so be it. It takes all kinds.

If the gas leak is that serious, it won't be found by the home inspector.

To each his own, Batman.

As for me, I will alert the relevant people of the problem in the same manner described by Nick, then get myself off to my next inspection.

David, I expected a bit more from you.

They turned the gas on for me to inspect........

..... lets see, should I just let them know in my report tomorrow?

How long before you arrived

Me thinks there's bit more to the story.

Not true at all, but how much truth can one expect from a ditch digging draft dodger?
